Coronavirus Updates

Covid-19 Update – 02/11/20

Following the government’s announcement on Saturday 31st October 2020, our swimming pools will be CLOSED until it is deemed safe to reopen. Sorry!! Please rest assured this is just a “pause” and as soon as it is safe to do so we will be back in the pool!

Returning to swimming for swimmers within government guidelines for Covid 19.

Please complete the following documents and return to us before your swimming sessions.

Return To Swimming Declaration (Covid-19)
Pre-swimming Covid-19 health screen

Changing

We will be requesting that swimmers arrive and leave ‘pool ready’ with a suitable over garment to change out of / in to, negating the need to use the changing rooms for long amounts of time. We will section off the changing rooms into 2m spaces with tape or cones for swimmers that cannot avoid changing, for example special needs, swimmers with skin conditions etc. Swimmers will be permitted to use the toilet facilities but will be requested to use the toilet at home before they attend swimming minimising use.

Spectators are requested to wear a mask as per government-guidelines updates issued on 8/8/2020.

Cleaning

We will be agreeing with our venue holders that between hirers/users, there will be an intense clean of the pool and changing rooms. We will be hiring extra on site cleaners for constant ‘touch point’ cleaning during our swim sessions. There will be a break in between lessons enabling cleaning to take place in between groups; there will be fewer swimmers and fewer parents on site. We will have one time set of swimmers permitted in the pool building (e.g. 3.30pm swimmers) before the next time set is permitted entry (e.g. 4pm swimmers now allowed in the building at 4.05pm, swim lesson to start at 4.10pm).

All swimmers to sign a ‘return to swimming declaration’ before returning to lessons. They will then sign in weekly either by our QR code, or at the pool venue; this will include a signature needed for the swimmer and the spectator, ‘I / my spectator do not have Covid 19 symptoms swim declaration’. They will be requested to inform us if anything changes and told not to attend classes if anything does change. We will be suggesting that if anyone shows symptoms they get tested and if clear they can return, if positive advise them to urgently advise us and to self-isolate for 14 days and not to swim.

Social distancing

Due to social distancing we will only be able to teach limited numbers, depending on the pool venue size.  The reduction of class sizes also takes into consideration a reduced number of spectators – there will be one spectator allowed per child. At the moment the figures are; 2m social distancing, 1m when unable to adhere but not for a prolonged time. Swim England’s updated guidance is ‘recommended minimum of 6 m2 per swimmers.Due to social distancing we will only be able to teach limited numbers, depending on the pool venue size. Lesson adaptions

We have had to make many significant changes to our lessons – our primary focus is to provide our customers with safe swimming lessons and stay in line with COVID-19 government guide lines. We have been working hard on our re launch plans, risk assessments and operational guidelines, alongside our National Governing bodies, the STA, Swim England, and of course our lovely pool owners, all helping us to get us to all get back to the pool safely.

In the lesson

Our teachers will not be allowed in the pool with the swimmers unless there is an emergency, but each group that requires extra supervision will have assistance and the number of swimmers is limited. Your children will be safe, happy and of course progress well in a social distanced swim area. We will abide to the social distancing the government have suggested. We will be spacing our swimmers in different ways to get the maximum number of swimmers in the venue whilst abiding to Swim England and government guidance/updates.

Equipment for the pool

Our ‘learn to swim’ equipment will be cleaned / sanitised in between lessons and before being re-used.

An alternative

Bring your own equipment! We now offer ‘personal swim packs’ including every bit of equipment you may need for your swim ability. This will assure our swimmers that only they touch equipment. This may offer a lot of swimmers peace of mind.

Thank you for your assistance in keeping WetWetWet Swimming pools a safe and healthy place to be!

What our swimmers say

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Since joining the club in April this year we have been so impressed with all the progress both our children have made. As a headteacher, I appreciate the kind (but no nonsense approach) of both instructors. They are nurturing, kind, have a good sense o humour and ensure all the children remain focused...

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My 3 children have swam with Wet Wet Wet since 2009. They joined at just school age, and now my eldest is 14. They are all so confident in the water safe and really strong swimmers. The teachers go above and beyond and really care about if the children are happy and progress... I’m so glad my children have continued with Wet Wet Wet...

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Over the years both my kids and myself have had lessons with Wet Wet Wet. Rachel and Matt got me from not being able to swim a length of front crawl to being really competent at it, and Rachel now (patiently!) teaches my daughter each week. The office are friendly, good communications and updates are clear. Classes are fairly priced and are at pools around Brighton on various days so lots of choice - thanks!
